Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says there is "no way" Everton should have been awarded a penalty for Myles Lewis-Skelly's challenge on Jack Harrison.

ToggleArsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on Saturday but the visitors felt aggrieved at referee Darren England's decision to award Everton a second-half penalty after a coming together between Lewis-Skelly and Harrison in the box. The Gunners boss said he saw the replay "15 times" and was in disbelief at the call, one that was backed up by VAR.

He said after the game: "The referee decides to give a penalty that changes the course of the game. I'm here to give my opinion and, after seeing it 15 times, there is no way in my opinion that is a penalty because if it is then [Jake] O'Brien has to be out, and Everton have to play with 10 men. That's clear."
Arsenal's faint Premier League title hopes were dealt another crushing blow as they failed to come away with the win at Everton. They are now 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool and the Reds have a game in hand. With just seven matches remaining, it seems the title will be heading to the red side of Merseyside.
Arsenal will have to dust themselves off and go again when they take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.
